Details of various milestones and landmarks achieved during the Just concluded Indo-Pak series:
Test Series: India won 2-1.
* India also emerged victorious in a Test series across the border for the first time. This is India's seventh Test series win abroad, with previous victories registered in New Zealand in 1967-68, in West Indies in 1970-71, in England in 1971 and 1986, in Sri Lanka in 1993-94 and in Bangladesh in 2000-01.
* Saurav Ganguly became the most successful Indian Test captain with 15 Test victories to his credit from 39 matches. In the process, he surpassed the previous best of 14 wins which he had shared with Mohammad Azharuddin (47 Tests as skipper).
* With the series win over Pakistan, India has now pocketed rubber against as many as six different nations : Australia, West Indies, England, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and now Pakistan which remains the Indian record for the most series wins at the same time.
* With the victory in the first Test at Multan, Rahul Dravid registered his maiden Test win as skipper.
* Sachin Tendulkar, with unbeaten 194 at Multan, became the second highest century maker in test cricket with a tally of 33 hundreds to his credit. He eclipsed Steve Waugh's joint record of 32 hundreds and now only compatriot Sunil Gavaskar with 34 tons is ahead of him.
* Opener Virender Sehwag became the first Indian and 17th in the world to score a triple century in test cricket, when he made monumental score of 309 at Multan. In the process, he has plundered the most runs by an Indian in a day's play - making unbeaten 228 on the very first day. He became the only player to complete the respective milestones of hundred and triple century with a six!
* Vice captain Rahul Dravid became the only Indian player to score as many as five double centuries in Test cricket. His tally is now the world behind Donald Bradman(12), Walter Hammond and Brian Lara(7 each), Javed Miandad (6)and Marvan Atapattu (5). He also became the first Indian to occupy the crease for the longest period of 740 minutes. He also notched up three successive double century in as many Test series - against New Zealand, Australia and Pakistan and thus emulated Sir Donald Bradman in scoring three double hundreds in-a-row in as many series with at least one double ton in a series.
* India posted a score of 600 or more runs twice in the same series for the first time in the history.
One day Series
* In their sixth attempt, India notched up its maiden series win in Pakistan with 3-2 victory margin. In all now India scored six ODI wins in 18 matches across the border.
* India's score of 349 for seven at Karachi remains the second highest team score without a century. The highest score in the category belongs to England with 363 for 7 vs. Pakistan at Nottingham in 1992.
* Rahul Dravid with 99 at Karachi became only the third player after K. Srikkanth and V.V.S. Laxman to be dismissed on one short of three-figure mark.
* The total match aggregate of 693 runs at Karachi is the highest aggregate in the history, surpassing the previous best of 664 for 19 off 99.4 overs by Sri Lanka and Pakistan at Singapore during 1995-96 season.
* Pakistan's score of 344 for eight at Karachi remains the highest score by a side batting second eclipsing the previous best of 330 for seven off 49.1 overs by Australia vs. South Africa at Port Elizabeth in 2001-02 season.
* India has now hosted the most scores (eight in all) of 300 or more runs while batting second in the O.D.I which has resulted in four victories and four defeats.
* With a sensational catch to dismiss Inzamam-ul-Haq in the fifth and final match, Sachin Tendulkar completed a centuries of catches.
